Alliance Duel, commonly called VS, is one of the most important weekly alliance competitions in Last War: Survival.
The strongest VS strategy is not to spend as much as possible.
It is:
Prepare → Save → Synchronize → Spend → Stop
Prepare resources before their scoring day, synchronize important actions with Arms Race whenever possible, spend only when the timing is favorable, and stop when additional spending is no longer efficient.
1. Alliance Duel Overview
Alliance Duel consists of six daily stages:
- Monday — Radar Training
- Tuesday — Base Expansion
- Wednesday — Age of Science
- Thursday — Train Heroes
- Friday — Total Mobilization
- Saturday — Enemy Buster
Each day has a different scoring focus, and Saturday is the main combat day.
The exact scoring values, chest thresholds, rewards, and eligible activities can change. Always use the current in-game VS panel as the final authority.
The important strategic lesson is:
Win the right days, not every day at any cost.
An alliance does not need every member to maximize their personal score every day. What matters is converting available resources into the alliance result as efficiently as possible.
2. The Core VS Strategy
Before spending an important resource, ask:
- Does this action score VS today?
- Can it score better on another day?
- Does it also score Arms Race?
- Does the underlying action improve my account?
- Can it push me to a useful chest?
- Does the alliance actually need the points?
- Will I need this resource later?
- Am I threatening my Saturday reserve?
The ideal action provides several benefits at once:
Account Progression + VS Points + Arms Race Points + Chest Progress
The worst type of VS spending is an unnecessary upgrade performed only for points.
The Golden Rule
Do not ask "Can I spend this?" Ask "When does this resource create the most value?"
Example
Bad: Spend a large amount of Speed-Ups simply because you have them.
Better: Wait for a day where the same Speed-Ups contribute efficiently to VS, preferably while also helping Arms Race and a useful upgrade.
3. VS Daily Chests
Each VS day contains reward chest thresholds.
The exact thresholds and rewards can change, and the number of available chests can depend on alliance research and game updates.
Always use the current in-game VS panel as the final authority.
Chest Push Rule
Do not spend resources simply because you are close to a chest.
Use this logic:
- Small additional cost + valuable reward: Consider pushing.
- Huge additional cost + small additional reward: Save.
- Chest requires resources needed later: Usually stop.
- Alliance does not need the additional points: Reconsider.
Example
You are a small amount away from a useful chest and completing an upgrade you already wanted would push you over the threshold.
Good: Complete the upgrade.
You would need to burn a large stockpile of Speed-Ups purely to reach the next chest.
Bad: Spend everything for a reward that does not justify the cost.
4. Sunday Preparation
Sunday is not a VS scoring day, but it is one of the most important days of the weekly cycle.
Use Sunday to prepare:
- Radar Tasks
- Gathering marches
- Construction
- Research
- Hero resources
- Speed-Ups
- Training
- Saturday combat resources
The goal is to enter each VS day with actions already prepared.
Radar
Prepare eligible Radar activity before Monday.
General flow:
Prepare Radar → Wait for reset → Complete during VS → Continue cycling
Avoid wasting valuable Radar activity before the intended scoring window.
Gathering
Send gathering marches on Sunday and, when practical, time them to finish after Monday reset.
Then:
Collect → Send again → Continue gathering
This converts normal gathering into additional Monday VS value.
Construction
Prepare important buildings and resources before Tuesday.
Do not complete everything randomly. Save useful Construction Speed-Ups for the scoring windows where they create the most value.
Research
Before Wednesday:
- Choose useful research.
- Prepare resources.
- Save Research Speed-Ups.
- Save Valor Badges.
- Prepare Research Speed Survivors.
- Prepare Secretary of Science.
- Prepare Cooperative Research.
- Prepare other Research Speed bonuses.
- Prepare relevant professional skills.
Heroes
Save important Hero resources throughout the week:
- Hero EXP
- Hero Shards
- Skill Medals
- Recruitment resources
- Hero development materials
Hero Shards should primarily be treated as a Thursday resource.
Speed-Ups
Protect Speed-Ups throughout the week.
Important categories include:
- Construction
- Research
- Training
- General
- Healing
Do not automatically spend them when you receive them.
Saturday Preparation
By Friday night, make sure you have enough:
- Troops
- Hospital capacity
- Healing Speed-Ups
- Teleports
- Shields
- March capacity
- Rally availability
5. Arms Race Double-Dipping
Arms Race is one of the biggest opportunities for VS optimization.
Before performing a major action:
Check VS → Check Arms Race → Perform the action only if the timing is favorable
The ideal situation is:
One Action → VS Points + Arms Race Points
This is commonly called double-dipping.
Examples include:
- Research
- Construction
- Training
- Hero development
- Other eligible progression activities
Never assume an activity scores Arms Race.
Always check:
- Current Arms Race phase
- Remaining time
- Scoring category
The Master Rule
Before major spending: Check VS. Check Arms Race. Then spend.
6. Monday — Radar Training
Monday is primarily focused on:
- Radar Tasks
- Stamina
- Gathering
- Drone activities
- Certain Hero EXP usage
- Other activities shown in the current VS panel
Because Monday is generally a lower-value day, it should normally be played efficiently rather than aggressively.
Monday Strategy
Use your Sunday preparation first:
Collect prepared gathering → Complete prepared Radar → Send gathering marches again → Use Stamina efficiently → Use eligible Drone resources → Use eligible Hero EXP → Check Arms Race → Check chest progress → Stop unnecessary spending
Do not destroy your weekly resource plan just to dominate a lower-priority day.
Important Hero Distinction
Hero EXP and Hero Shards should not automatically be treated as the same resource.
Hero EXP can score in different contexts, while Hero Shards are primarily a Thursday resource.
Example
You have Hero EXP available on Monday.
If using it improves a hero you already planned to develop and contributes to today's scoring, it can be efficient.
If using it forces you to consume resources you need for Thursday, consider waiting.
Monday Checklist
- [ ] Confirm the current VS day.
- [ ] Check current VS scoring.
- [ ] Check Arms Race.
- [ ] Collect prepared gathering.
- [ ] Complete prepared Radar Tasks.
- [ ] Send gathering marches again.
- [ ] Use Stamina efficiently.
- [ ] Use eligible Drone resources.
- [ ] Use Hero EXP when appropriate.

- [ ] Prepare Tuesday.
7. Tuesday — Base Expansion
Tuesday focuses primarily on:
- Construction
- Construction Speed-Ups
- Trucks
- Secret Tasks
- Survivor-related activities
- Other activities shown in the current VS panel
Tuesday deserves more resource commitment than Monday, but efficiency still matters.
Construction Strategy
Prepare construction before Tuesday.
The important factor is not only how much construction you complete, but when the value is generated.
Ideal sequence:
Prepare building → Prepare resources → Tuesday VS → Complete construction → Check Arms Race → Start the next useful construction
A useful construction can provide:
Account Progression + VS Points + Potential Arms Race Points
Construction Speed-Ups
Before spending Construction Speed-Ups, check:
- VS
- Arms Race
- Chest progress
- Alliance score
- Future construction needs
- Friday opportunities
Do not automatically use every Construction Speed-Up on Tuesday.
Trucks
Before completing valuable Trucks:
- Check the current VS panel.
- Confirm that the activity qualifies.
- Check the reward.
- Check Arms Race.
- Follow alliance instructions.
Secret Tasks
Prepare valuable Secret Tasks and complete them during the appropriate scoring window whenever practical.
Example
You have enough Speed-Ups to finish several buildings.
If Tuesday is already comfortably won, saving some for Friday may create more strategic value.
Tuesday Checklist
- [ ] Confirm Day 2.
- [ ] Check VS scoring.
- [ ] Check Arms Race.
- [ ] Complete prepared construction.
- [ ] Use Construction Speed-Ups efficiently.
- [ ] Complete eligible Trucks.
- [ ] Complete eligible Secret Tasks.
- [ ] Complete useful Survivor activities.
- [ ] Check chest progress.
- [ ] Check alliance score.
- [ ] Preserve Research resources.
- [ ] Prepare Wednesday.
8. Wednesday — Age of Science
Wednesday is one of the most important resource-management days because Research is a major long-term progression system.
Main focus:
- Research
- Research Speed-Ups
- Valor Badges
- Research Speed bonuses
- Drone Component resources
- Other science activities shown in the current VS panel
Research Preparation
The strongest Research VS strategy begins before Wednesday.
Prepare:
Research → Resources → Research Speed Survivors → Secretary of Science → Cooperative Research → Other Research Speed bonuses → Professional skills → VS → Arms Race → Start Research
Research Speed Setup
Before major research, stack applicable Research Speed bonuses.
A typical setup is:
Research Speed Survivors → Secretary of Science → Cooperative Research → Other Research Speed buffs → Professional Skills → Start Research
The exact order can depend on active bonuses and their durations.
The important principle is:
Activate temporary Research Speed bonuses before starting the research that benefits from them.
Research Speed Survivors
Before major research:
- Assign the strongest Research Speed Survivors.
- Confirm their professional skills.
- Check active bonuses.
- Then start the research.
Do not start a major research project and optimize the bonuses afterward.
Secretary of Science
Use Secretary of Science before major research when available.
Temporary Research Speed bonuses become more valuable as the research duration increases.
Cooperative Research
Activate the appropriate Cooperative Research bonus before starting major research.
Avoid wasting a temporary bonus on a tiny project when a much longer project is ready.
Professional Skills
Use relevant professional skills immediately before valuable research when possible.
Short vs Long Research
A short research project and a multi-day research project should not always be optimized identically.
- Short Research: Lower opportunity cost.
- Long Research: Greater value from temporary Speed bonuses.
Stack your strongest bonuses around research where the saved time creates the most value.
Research Speed-Ups
Before using Research Speed-Ups:
- Check VS.
- Check Arms Race.
- Check research importance.
- Check active Research Speed bonuses.
- Check alliance needs.
- Consider Friday.
- Protect future research resources.
Valor Badges
Valor Badges are valuable progression resources.
Prioritize:
- Important progression research.
- Long-term account value.
- Efficient VS timing.
- Alliance-required pushes.
Do not spend Valor Badges simply because you need a few additional VS points.
Drone Components
Do not confuse Drone Skill Chip-related resources with Drone Component resources.
Always verify the current VS panel before spending either.
Wednesday Checklist
- [ ] Confirm Day 3.
- [ ] Check VS scoring.
- [ ] Check Arms Race.
- [ ] Choose useful research.
- [ ] Set Research Speed Survivors.
- [ ] Prepare Secretary of Science.
- [ ] Activate Cooperative Research.
- [ ] Prepare other Research Speed bonuses.
- [ ] Prepare professional skills.
- [ ] Start useful research.
- [ ] Use Research Speed-Ups efficiently.
- [ ] Use Valor Badges wisely.
- [ ] Complete eligible Drone Component activities.
- [ ] Check chest progress.
- [ ] Check alliance score.
- [ ] Prepare Thursday.
9. Thursday — Train Heroes
Thursday is the main Hero development day.
Focus on:
- Hero EXP
- Hero Shards
- Hero Recruitment
- Skill Medals
- Hero development
- Other Hero activities shown in the current VS panel
Hero Preparation
Save Hero resources throughout the week.
On Thursday:
Check VS → Check Arms Race → Use saved Hero resources → Complete useful upgrades
Hero Shards
Hero Shards should primarily be saved for Thursday.
Always verify the current VS activity before spending large amounts.
Hero EXP
Hero EXP can appear in different scoring contexts during the week.
Always check the current VS activity before spending large amounts.
Recruitment
Before opening large amounts of Recruitment resources:
Check VS → Check Arms Race → Confirm Hero scoring → Open
Skill Medals
Prioritize useful Hero upgrades rather than spending Skill Medals only for points.
The ideal action is:
Useful Hero Upgrade + VS Points + Arms Race Points
Hero Upgrade Rule
Good VS spending:
An upgrade you already wanted that also provides VS points.
Bad VS spending:
An unnecessary upgrade performed only to chase a chest.
Example
You need to upgrade a core hero anyway.
If Thursday VS rewards that action, doing it Thursday gives you account progression and VS value at the same time.
If the upgrade is unnecessary and would consume resources needed elsewhere, do not force it just because points are available.
Thursday Checklist
- [ ] Confirm Day 4.
- [ ] Check VS scoring.
- [ ] Check Arms Race.
- [ ] Use saved Hero Shards.
- [ ] Use Hero EXP efficiently.
- [ ] Use Skill Medals efficiently.
- [ ] Use Recruitment resources when appropriate.
- [ ] Complete useful Hero upgrades.
- [ ] Check chest progress.
- [ ] Check alliance score.
- [ ] Preserve Speed-Ups.
- [ ] Prepare Friday.
10. Friday — Total Mobilization
Friday is an important resource-management day because saved Speed-Ups and progression resources can generate significant VS value.
Main categories can include:
- Training
- Troop Promotion
- Construction
- Research
- Speed-Ups
- Other activities listed in the current VS panel
Friday Preparation
Do not start preparing on Friday.
Throughout the week:
Save Speed-Ups → Maintain queues → Check Arms Race timing → Friday → Spend strategically
Training
Before using Training Speed-Ups:
- Check VS.
- Check Arms Race.
- Check training queues.
- Check troop needs.
- Check alliance target.
- Preserve enough resources for Saturday.
Troop Promotion
Promotion can be valuable because it improves existing troops.
Promote when:
- It improves your account.
- It scores current VS.
- Arms Race timing is favorable.
- You have sufficient resources.
- The alliance needs the points.
Speed-Up Strategy
Before major Speed-Up spending:
VS → Arms Race → Chest → Alliance score → Saturday reserve → Spend only if justified
Potential categories include:
- Training Speed-Ups
- Construction Speed-Ups
- Research Speed-Ups
- General Speed-Ups
Construction and Research
Construction and Research may also provide Friday value depending on the current Total Mobilization scoring.
The important decision is:
Use everything earlier or preserve some value for Friday?
The correct choice depends on:
- Alliance score
- Enemy score
- Chest progress
- Arms Race
- Remaining resources
- Saturday requirements
Friday Double-Dip
The ideal action is:
Normal Progression + VS + Arms Race
Example:
Train troops → stronger army + VS points + Arms Race points
Protect Saturday
Do not spend everything because Saturday is tomorrow.
Preserve:
- Troops
- Healing Speed-Ups
- Shields
- Teleports
- General Speed-Ups
- Combat resources
Friday Checklist
- [ ] Confirm Day 5.
- [ ] Check VS scoring.
- [ ] Check Arms Race.
- [ ] Check alliance objective.
- [ ] Check chest progress.
- [ ] Train troops.
- [ ] Promote troops.
- [ ] Use Training Speed-Ups.
- [ ] Use Construction Speed-Ups when efficient.
- [ ] Use Research Speed-Ups when efficient.
- [ ] Use General Speed-Ups when efficient.
- [ ] Preserve Saturday resources.
- [ ] Check Healing Speed-Ups.
- [ ] Check Teleports.
- [ ] Check Shields.
- [ ] Prepare Enemy Buster.
11. Saturday — Enemy Buster
Saturday is the most valuable single VS day.
The objective is not:
Attack everything.
It is:
Generate valuable VS points while minimizing unnecessary losses and denying the enemy easy points.
A successful Enemy Buster strategy depends on:
Preparation + Target Selection + Scouting + Coordination + Healing + Protection
Saturday Reset
Immediately determine:
Am I actively fighting right now?
If YES
- Follow alliance instructions.
- Prepare marches.
- Move to the assigned area.
- Participate in coordinated attacks.
- Do not act independently unless instructed.
If NO
Shield.
If you are sleeping, working, away from the game, waiting for a later combat window, or unsure whether you will fight, protect your city.
If you are not fighting from reset, shield.
If You Plan to Fight Later
Keep your shield active until:
- You are available.
- The alliance is ready.
- A target is identified.
- Your position is known.
- Your marches are ready.
- You understand the attack plan.
Then:
Shield → Prepare → Coordinate → Remove Shield → Fight
When you finish:
Stop → Heal → Return to safety → Shield if going offline
12. Saturday Has Two Objectives
1. Score
Generate VS points through eligible combat activities.
2. Deny
Prevent the enemy from generating easy points from your alliance.
A player who scores heavily but gives the enemy even more points may not be helping the alliance.
The objective is:
Maximize the points you generate while minimizing the points you give away.
13. Scouting
Always scout before attacking uncertain targets.
Consider:
- Headquarters level
- Troop power
- Main march power
- Defensive strength
- Reinforcement potential
- Nearby enemy players
- Nearby alliance activity
- Rally potential
- Whether the target appears active
Do not attack blindly.
14. Target Selection
The best target is not necessarily the weakest target.
Look for:
Good Score + High Win Probability + Low Risk + Repeatability
An isolated target can be much better than a slightly weaker target surrounded by active reinforcements.
Avoid targets that are:
- Significantly stronger.
- Surrounded by strong allies.
- Clearly waiting for you.
- Difficult to reinforce against.
- Poor value relative to risk.
If uncertain:
Scout first.
Example
Target A: Slightly weaker but surrounded by active reinforcements.
Target B: Slightly stronger but isolated and predictable.
Target B may be the better choice if the attack is still favorable, because repeatability and low reinforcement risk matter.
15. Rally Strategy
Use rallies when coordinated force is needed.
Basic flow:
Scout → Call Rally → Members Join → Confirm Marches → Launch → Evaluate → Heal → Repeat if Profitable
Do not automatically join every rally.
Before joining:
- Check the target.
- Check rally leader strength.
- Check your own march.
- Consider reinforcement potential.
- Follow alliance strategy.
Rally Discipline
Avoid:
- Too few participants.
- Launching too early.
- Missing key players.
- Multiple uncoordinated targets.
- Changing targets immediately before launch.
Concentrated attacks are generally more reliable than scattered attacks.
16. Solo Attacks
Solo attacks can be useful when:
- The target is clearly weaker.
- The target is isolated.
- Risk is low.
- The attack is repeatable.
- Alliance strategy allows it.
Do not solo strong or uncertain targets simply to generate activity.
17. Reinforcement
Defending allies can be just as important as attacking.
Reinforce when:
- An important player is attacked.
- A strategic city is under pressure.
- The alliance needs to hold a position.
- Your reinforcement can materially change the battle.
Do not blindly send troops into an unwinnable fight.
18. Hospital Management
Before combat, check:
- Hospital capacity.
- Current wounded troops.
- Healing Speed-Ups.
- Healing resources.
If the hospital is already near capacity, reckless combat can quickly end your participation.
Healing
Do not automatically heal everything immediately.
Coordinate healing with:
- Combat windows
- Available resources
- Hospital capacity
- VS
- Arms Race
- Alliance requirements
The objective is to maintain enough combat power without wasting healing resources.
Healing Speed-Ups
Before using them:
- Check VS.
- Check Arms Race.
- Check hospital capacity.
- Check whether another combat window is coming.
- Prioritize the troops needed for continued participation.
19. Teleports
Teleports are extremely valuable on Saturday.
Use them to:
- Join alliance attack zones.
- Move toward valuable targets.
- Reinforce allies.
- Escape exposed positions.
- Reposition strategically.
Before teleporting, check:
Target + Friendly Support + Nearby Enemies + Escape Route
Do not teleport directly into a potential trap.
20. March Management
Keep marches organized.
A reserve march can allow you to:
- Reinforce allies.
- Attack another target.
- Defend yourself.
- Respond to enemy attacks.
- Retreat safely.
Avoid committing every march unless the alliance strategy requires it.
21. Combat Rotation
A simple combat cycle is:
Scout → Attack → Evaluate → Heal → Reposition → Scout → Attack
Do not continuously attack without checking the result.
Stop Fighting When
- The target is no longer profitable.
- Strong reinforcements arrive.
- Losses become excessive.
- Hospital capacity becomes dangerous.
- Healing resources are running low.
- The alliance objective is secured.
- You are giving the enemy more points than you generate.
Stopping is part of good VS strategy.
22. Saturday Score Management
During Enemy Buster, monitor:
- Personal VS score
- Alliance VS score
- Enemy alliance score
- Victory Point situation
- Remaining time
- Combat resources
Do not judge the situation only from your personal score.
The important question is:
Who is currently winning the battle?
If Your Alliance Is Winning
- Avoid unnecessary fights.
- Protect weaker members.
- Shield offline players.
- Attack only profitable targets.
- Preserve healing resources.
- Avoid giving the enemy easy points.
Goal: Defend the lead.
If Your Alliance Is Losing
- Measure the score gap.
- Determine whether recovery is realistic.
- Identify profitable targets.
- Concentrate players.
- Coordinate rallies.
- Avoid scattered attacks.
Goal: Create a coordinated recovery.
If the Score Is Close
- Monitor the scoreboard.
- Avoid unnecessary solo fights.
- Concentrate attacks.
- Protect valuable players.
- Keep healing resources available.
- Coordinate the final combat window.
Final Push
Identify target → Scout → Rally → Concentrate players → Launch → Evaluate → Heal → Repeat
Do not split the alliance across too many targets.
Final Defense
Once the necessary advantage is secured:
Stop unnecessary attacks → Return to safety → Heal → Shield inactive players → Protect the lead
23. Saturday Alliance Coordination
A strong alliance should communicate:
- Combat start time
- Rally leaders
- Target locations
- Rally targets
- Reinforcement priorities
- Shield rules
- Retreat timing
- End-of-day strategy
Suggested Saturday Announcement
\\\`text
SATURDAY — ENEMY BUSTER
Combat starts: [TIME]
If you are not fighting from reset → SHIELD
Do not remove shields until instructed.
Use rallies on designated targets.
Do not solo strong targets.
Heal between combat waves.
Follow target calls.
If offline → SHIELD
\\\`
Protect Offline Players
Before combat ends:
Check exposed members → Remind them to shield → Protect exposed cities → End unnecessary combat
An unshielded offline player can become free points for the enemy.
24. Saturday Golden Rules
If you are not fighting from reset, shield.
Scout before attacking.
Do not attack stronger targets blindly.
Use rallies for coordinated targets.
Do not waste Teleports.
Manage your hospital.
Heal strategically.
Do not give the enemy free points.
If you are winning, protect the lead.
If you are losing, concentrate your attacks.
When the objective is secured, stop.
25. Resource Allocation
Do not divide your resources equally between every day.
Different resources have different strategic values.
- Hero Shards: Primarily Thursday
- Research Speed-Ups: Wednesday / Friday depending on scoring
- Construction Speed-Ups: Tuesday / Friday depending on strategy
- Training Speed-Ups: Primarily Friday
- Healing Speed-Ups: Saturday
- Shields: Saturday protection
- Teleports: Saturday combat
- General Speed-Ups: Flexible; protect future value
The goal is not to spend every resource.
The goal is to spend the right resource at the right time.
Opportunity Cost
Every resource has another possible use.
If you spend a large amount of Training Speed-Ups today, those same Speed-Ups cannot be used later.
Always ask:
What am I giving up by spending this now?
This is especially important for:
- Speed-Ups
- Hero Shards
- Valor Badges
- Drone resources
- Healing resources
- Recruitment resources
26. Alliance Strategy vs Personal Score
Your personal strategy should support the alliance.
If the alliance needs additional points and you can provide them efficiently, contribute.
If the alliance is already comfortably ahead, spending huge amounts simply for personal ranking may be wasteful.
Always ask:
Does the alliance actually need my additional points?
Contribution Roles
Not every member needs to be a top scorer.
Heavy Spenders
Push difficult days and large score gaps.
Regular Contributors
Maintain consistent daily scoring.
Free-to-Play / Low-Spenders
Focus on preparation, saving, and efficient scoring.
Combat Specialists
Focus on Saturday Enemy Buster.
Support Players
Gather, reinforce, heal, and protect the alliance.
Every player can contribute to the weekly result.
27. Free-to-Play and Low-Spender Strategy
Free-to-play and low-spender players should focus heavily on:
Timing + Saving + Gathering + Radar + Natural Progression + Arms Race Synchronization
Do not try to compete with heavy spenders simply by spending more.
Instead:
Get more VS value from the resources you already have.
Prioritize:
- Important upgrades
- Efficient chest thresholds
- Arms Race double-dipping
- Saving resources for priority days
- Avoiding unnecessary Hero spending
- Protecting Saturday resources
The goal is:
High efficiency, not maximum spending.
Example
A spender can solve a score gap by throwing resources at it.
A low-spender may have to win through timing:
Prepare early → Double-dip → Use natural progression → Reach efficient chests → Stop before waste
28. The Stop Rule
One of the most important VS skills is knowing when to stop.
Stop spending when:
- Your alliance has secured the needed result.
- The next chest is too expensive.
- Resources are more valuable later.
- Arms Race timing is unfavorable.
- You are spending only for personal ranking.
- Saturday resources are being threatened.
- The marginal VS value is too low.
Saving resources is also a form of winning.
Example
You are close to a chest, but reaching it requires spending a large amount of resources that you need tomorrow.
If the alliance does not need the additional points:
Stop. Save.
29. Common VS Mistakes
Spending Everything on Monday
Do not destroy your weekly resource plan to dominate a lower-priority day.
Using Hero Shards at the Wrong Time
Hero Shards are primarily a Thursday resource.
Starting Research Without Preparation
Set up Research Speed bonuses before major research.
Spending Valor Badges Only for VS
Valor Badges provide valuable permanent progression.
Using Speed-Ups Randomly
Before major spending, check:
VS + Arms Race + Future Value
Chasing Every Chest
The next chest is not automatically worth its resource cost.
Ignoring Arms Race
You can lose significant value by performing actions outside the matching Arms Race phase.
Fighting Randomly on Saturday
Random attacks can create points for the enemy.
Scout and coordinate.
Going Offline Without a Shield
If you are not fighting:
Shield.
Ignoring the Hospital
Combat without enough hospital or healing capacity can end your Saturday participation.
Fighting After the Objective Is Secured
If your alliance is comfortably ahead, unnecessary combat only creates additional risk.
Playing Only for Personal Score
VS is an alliance competition.
The alliance result matters more than individual ranking.
30. Complete Daily VS Routine
Every day, follow this process.
Step 1 — Open Alliance Duel
Confirm today's VS activity.
Step 2 — Check Scoring
Know which actions currently provide points.
Step 3 — Check Chests
See how close you are to the next useful threshold.
Step 4 — Check Alliance Score
Determine whether the alliance actually needs additional points.
Step 5 — Open Arms Race
Check the current phase and remaining time.
Step 6 — Identify Double-Dip Actions
Prioritize actions that provide:
Progression + VS + Arms Race
Step 7 — Check Resources
Make sure today's spending does not damage tomorrow's plan.
Step 8 — Perform Prepared Actions
Use the resources and activities prepared before the scoring day.
Step 9 — Push Only When Necessary
Push when:
- The alliance needs the points, or
- The resource-to-reward ratio is favorable.
Step 10 — Stop
Once additional spending becomes inefficient, stop.
Step 11 — Prepare Tomorrow
Every VS day should help prepare the next one.

32. The Complete VS Decision Tree
Before spending a valuable resource, ask:
Does it score VS now?
No
Can it score better later?
- Yes: Save it.
- No: Consider normal progression.
Yes
Does it also score Arms Race?
- Yes: Strong timing.
- No: Continue evaluating.
Then ask:
Do I actually need the upgrade?
- No: Avoid unnecessary spending.
- Yes: Continue.
Will it help reach a valuable chest?
- Yes: Calculate the cost.
- No: Continue evaluating.
Does the alliance need the points?
- Yes: Contribute.
- No: Consider saving.
Final Question
Will spending this now create more value than keeping it for later?
If yes:
Spend.
If no:
Save.
33. Weekly Master Plan
The entire VS week can be viewed as one resource cycle:
Sunday
Prepare Monday
↓
Monday
Radar + Gathering + Stamina + Drone
↓
Prepare Tuesday
↓
Tuesday
Construction + Trucks + Secret Tasks

Start the cycle again
The strongest players do not treat each day as an isolated competition.
They manage the entire week as one resource economy.
34. Advanced Daily Playbook
Use this layer after the basic daily checklist. The exact point values and eligible actions can change, so the current in-game VS panel remains the final authority.
Monday — Radar Training
Prepare: saved Radar activity, gathering marches timed around reset, Stamina, and eligible Drone/Hero resources.
Best approach: collect prepared value first, then cycle Radar and gathering naturally. Use Stamina on activities you would complete anyway. Treat Monday as an efficiency day rather than a reason to empty valuable weekly resources.
Avoid: finishing prepared Radar or gathering too early, forcing Hero development only for points, or spending resources needed for stronger days.
Example: if two gathering marches can return shortly after reset, delay collection until the VS day begins, collect them, and immediately send them back out.
Tuesday — Base Expansion
Prepare: useful buildings, Construction Speed-Ups, Trucks, Secret Tasks, Survivor actions, and required building resources.
Best approach: finish upgrades you genuinely need and align large Construction Speed-Up spending with a matching Arms Race phase whenever practical. Keep some flexibility for Friday if Total Mobilization can use the same resources efficiently.
Avoid: finishing major buildings before the scoring window, burning every Construction Speed-Up early, or completing valuable Trucks/Secret Tasks without checking whether they qualify.
Example: if several buildings are ready but your alliance already has a safe lead, complete enough useful construction for efficient rewards and preserve the rest rather than chasing unnecessary personal ranking.
Wednesday — Age of Science
Prepare: useful research, resources, Valor Badges, Research Speed-Ups, Research Speed Survivors, Secretary of Science, Cooperative Research, professional skills, and other available research-speed bonuses.
Best approach: stack applicable temporary research-speed bonuses before starting long research, then align the start or acceleration with VS and Arms Race when possible. Prioritize research that improves the account instead of research chosen only because it produces points.
Avoid: starting long research before activating bonuses, wasting Valor Badges on low-value research, or confusing Drone Component resources with other Drone resources.
Example: when a long research upgrade is already part of your progression plan, activate the available speed bonuses first and use the VS window to turn the same upgrade into progression plus event value.
Thursday — Train Heroes
Prepare: Hero EXP, Hero Shards, Skill Medals, Recruitment resources, and planned hero upgrades.
Best approach: concentrate saved Hero Shards and planned hero development here, while checking Arms Race before large upgrades. Upgrade core heroes first.
Avoid: upgrading heroes you do not use merely for points, opening large recruitment stocks without checking current scoring, or consuming resources that have greater future value.
Example: if a core hero needs stars, EXP, and skills anyway, Thursday is the ideal time to bundle those planned upgrades when the current VS panel rewards them.
Friday — Total Mobilization
Prepare: Training, troop promotions, and Speed-Ups preserved from earlier in the week.
Best approach: treat Friday as the flexible conversion day. Use the resource categories currently rewarded by Total Mobilization, synchronize with Arms Race, and keep enough troops and combat resources for Saturday.
Avoid: entering Friday with every Speed-Up already spent, overtraining beyond your resource capacity, or sacrificing Saturday readiness for a personal score push.
Example: if Training and Research can both contribute, choose the action that also advances your account and overlaps with the current Arms Race phase rather than spending blindly across both.
Saturday — Enemy Buster
Prepare: troops, hospital space, healing resources, shields, teleports, marches, rally leaders, target calls, and a clear alliance combat window.
Best approach: score while denying score. Fight when coordinated, scout uncertain targets, rotate attacks and healing, and shield whenever you are not actively participating.
Avoid: random solo attacks, fighting into stronger reinforcements, overflowing the hospital, staying exposed while offline, or continuing to feed points after the alliance objective is secured.
Example: a repeatable isolated target that produces favorable trades can be more valuable than a weaker-looking city surrounded by active reinforcements.
35. Score-Gap Management
The scoreboard should change how aggressively resources are used.
Comfortable Lead
Protect the advantage. Reach efficient rewards, preserve premium resources, and avoid unnecessary Saturday losses. A lead has value only if the alliance does not give it back through waste.
Small Lead or Close Match
Keep flexible resources available. Coordinate pushes around Arms Race and alliance activity so multiple members can create points in the same window. Avoid showing the opponent every resource too early.
Recoverable Deficit
Estimate whether the gap can realistically be closed with resources the alliance can afford to spend. Concentrate pushes on efficient categories and coordinated combat instead of asking everyone to empty everything.
Unrealistic Deficit
Do not destroy the following week for a result that is no longer realistically recoverable. Collect efficient rewards, continue useful progression, protect combat resources, and rebuild reserves.
A scoreboard gap is a resource-management problem, not automatically a command to spend more.
36. Alliance Contribution Roles
Different members can create value in different ways.
High-Capacity Scorers
Keep large resource reserves available for days where the alliance needs a decisive push. Avoid spending simply to create an early lead that smaller contributors could have covered efficiently.
Consistent Contributors
Target reliable daily participation, useful chest progress, and Arms Race synchronization. Consistency across many members can be more valuable than a few uncontrolled spikes.
F2P and Low-Spenders
Use preparation as the multiplier: saved Radar, gathering timing, natural construction/research, planned Hero development, troop promotion, and double-dipping.
Combat-Focused Members
Preserve Saturday readiness and follow coordinated target calls. Their contribution is not only points generated but also enemy points denied.
Support-Oriented Members
Reinforcement, gathering, healing discipline, shield reminders, target information, and alliance coordination can protect the score created by stronger attackers.
R4/R5 Coordination
Leadership should communicate the day's priority, whether the alliance should push or conserve, Saturday combat windows, rally leaders, target calls, shield expectations, and when members should stop spending.
37. Activity-Specific Optimization
Radar
Bank eligible activity before the intended scoring window when the game allows it. Avoid wasting prepared tasks immediately before reset.
Gathering
Time long marches so collection happens after the relevant reset when practical. Keep marches working rather than leaving them idle solely for perfect timing.
Trucks
Check the current VS panel before dispatching or completing valuable Trucks. Protect high-value opportunities when their timing can create event value.
Secret Tasks
Save valuable tasks for the appropriate scoring window when practical, but do not allow preparation to block normal account activity unnecessarily.
Construction
Prefer buildings already required for progression. Align completions and Speed-Ups with VS/Arms Race instead of starting useless upgrades for points.
Research
Choose valuable research first, stack speed bonuses, then use event timing. Valor Badges should buy meaningful progression, not merely scoreboard movement.
Hero Development
Concentrate resources on heroes you actually use. Save Shards for their strongest scoring opportunity and check the current event before large EXP, recruitment, or Skill Medal spending.
Training and Promotion
Maintain queues before Friday and use promotion when it efficiently strengthens existing troops. Keep enough resources to heal and fight on Saturday.
Drone Resources
Treat Drone resource types separately. Confirm exactly which Drone action the current VS panel rewards before consuming rare materials.
Healing
Heal to maintain combat availability without wasting resources. During Saturday, hospital safety and continued participation matter more than instantly clearing every wounded troop.
38. Advanced Enemy Buster Tactics
Target Priority
Prefer targets that combine favorable combat, useful score potential, low reinforcement risk, and repeatability. Raw headquarters level alone is not enough to judge a target.
Reinforcement Awareness
A target can change from profitable to dangerous as soon as reinforcements arrive. Re-scout or reassess after major changes instead of assuming the first battle result will repeat.
Rally Rotation
Use clear rally leaders and avoid scattering strong marches across too many targets. After each hit, evaluate the result before repeating.
Pressure and Bait
Do not chase every exposed enemy automatically. An apparently easy target may be positioned to attract attackers into stronger nearby players or reinforcements. Scout the surrounding area and follow alliance calls.
Kill/Loss Efficiency
A large personal score is not automatically a good trade. Compare what your attacks generate with the losses and counter-score they allow the opponent to create.
Final-Hour Strategy
When the match is close, preserve enough healing, teleports, marches, and coordinated players for the final combat window. When ahead, forcing extra fights can be worse than protecting the lead.
Disengagement
Retreat when a target becomes inefficient, reinforcements change the matchup, hospital pressure becomes unsafe, or the strategic objective has already been achieved.
39. Practical Examples
Example 1 — Save or Spend?
You can reach another chest, but doing so requires Speed-Ups planned for the next day's stronger scoring category. The alliance is already ahead.
Best decision: stop and save.
Example 2 — Double-Dip
A useful research upgrade is ready and the matching Arms Race phase is approaching.
Best decision: prepare all research-speed bonuses, wait for the overlap when practical, then perform the planned research so one action creates progression, VS value, and Arms Race value.
Example 3 — Personal Rank vs Alliance Result
You can spend a large reserve to climb the personal leaderboard, but the alliance result is already secure.
Best decision: preserve the reserve unless the personal reward genuinely justifies the opportunity cost.
Example 4 — Saturday Target Choice
One enemy is weaker but surrounded by active allies. Another is slightly stronger but isolated and produces favorable battle reports.
Best decision: the isolated target may provide better repeatable value despite appearing stronger.
Example 5 — Losing Saturday
The alliance is behind, but members are attacking different targets independently.
Best decision: stop scattered attacks, identify profitable targets, assign rally leaders, concentrate marches, and reassess after each coordinated wave.
Example 6 — Winning Saturday
The alliance has built a meaningful lead and the opponent is looking for exposed players.
Best decision: reduce unnecessary attacks, heal, return vulnerable players to safety, shield inactive members, and force the opponent to find difficult points.
40. Final VS Rules
Prepare before the scoring day.
Do not spend resources randomly.
Check VS before major actions.
Check Arms Race before major actions.
Double-dip whenever possible.
Hero Shards are primarily a Thursday resource.
Optimize Research Speed before major research.
Do not waste Valor Badges only for VS points.
Do not spend every Speed-Up early in the week.
Protect Saturday resources.
If you are not fighting from reset on Saturday, shield.
Scout before attacking.
Do not give the enemy free points.
If you are ahead, protect the lead.
If you are behind, coordinate the push.
Know when to stop.
41. One-Page VS Mental Checklist
Before spending:
VS?
Arms Race?
Chest?
Alliance need?
Future value?
Saturday reserve?
If the answers make sense:
Spend.
If not:
Save.
Prepare → Synchronize → Spend → Stop → Repeat
Alliance Duel is not about who can spend the most.
It is about:
- Timing
- Preparation
- Resource Management
- Coordination
- Efficiency
The strongest players turn normal progression into:
VS Points + Arms Race Points + Account Progression + Chest Rewards
The strongest alliances turn those individual actions into:
Victory Points → Alliance Duel Victory
