Season 5
Wild West
Eight warzones merge into one - CrystalGold, Coffee, Bank Strongholds, and Influence Points.
Wild West is the most structurally different season up to this point: eight separate warzones merge into a single massive battlefield called the Land of Liberty. Alliances that tried to run the same positioning and war playbook from earlier seasons found it stopped working immediately - the map is larger, so travel time punishes overextension in a way prior seasons didn't.
A three-resource economy
The economy runs on three linked resources:
- Coffee Beans - the primary currency for seasonal building upgrades: the Coffee Factory and the type-specific Tanker/Pilot/Missileer Bars.
- Coffee - generated by Coffee Factories, consumed at the Caffeine Institute to raise Virus Resistance and progress the tech tree.
- CrystalGold - earned from zombie kills, Trade Train activity, and event rewards. Spendable in the CrystalGold Shop, or invested in Bank Strongholds for interest.
Level Coffee Factories evenly across the alliance rather than rushing one member's to max first - the cheapest overall path is spreading levels, not stacking them.
Banks replace Strongholds
Cities and Strongholds are replaced by Cities and Banks this season. Bank Strongholds run on a deposit mechanic:
- Each player can make up to 3 CrystalGold deposits a day into controlled Banks.
- Up to 15 simultaneous active deposits on 5-day terms.
- Longer terms pay more interest but carry more plunder risk if the Bank falls - balance how much you're willing to risk per deposit.
Alliance Safe Time protects your alliance's cities and Banks from attack during a set window - plan your own offensive pushes around when opponents' safe time ISN'T active.
Rankings and the Tycoon system
Rankings this season come from Influence Points, replacing the faction-based competition of earlier seasons with free-for-all alliance standings - more diplomatic flexibility, but also more ambiguity about who's actually ahead at any given moment. A separate CrystalGold Tycoon system tracks five independent weekly leaderboards (Total CrystalGold, Bank Investments, Bank Plunders, Train Trade, Shooting Duel) with their own rewards regardless of your Influence Points rank.
Difficulty and starting position
Difficulty rises sharply this season: zombie and Doom Elite level caps are raised to 120 (with correspondingly large first-kill rewards), and taking down a Level 10 Bank Stronghold Boss can require up to 39,900 Virus Resistance.
Starting-area choice matters strategically too: - A cardinal direction favors Capitol control and more active warfare. - A corner favors a quieter CrystalGold Tycoon run with less constant fighting.
Neither is wrong, but agree on it as an alliance before the map locks in - mixing strategies within one alliance causes friction. The season runs roughly 8 weeks.
