Season 2

Polar Storm

A frozen polar region - temperature management, Rare Soil, and a faction war.

Polar Storm moves the fight into a frozen polar region ruled by Emperor Boreas, who shut down every furnace and left the land locked in permanent cold. It's the first season built around a personal environmental stat rather than just a combat one, and it changes how you plan every advance across the map.

Temperature - the season's central mechanic

Your base's temperature drifts toward its location's temperature, modified by your own Furnace, the shared Alliance Furnace, City heat, and events. The closer you push toward the map's center, the colder it gets - drop below -20°C and you lose the ability to rally or teleport entirely, so checking the temperature before every advance genuinely matters, not just as a formality.

  • Upgrading your High-Heat Furnace raises both personal heat and Virus Resistance together, making it the single best early investment.
  • The shared Alliance Furnace extends warmth across a wider radius for the whole alliance, not just you - reinforcing it regularly is a real contribution even if the individual amount feels small.
  • Plan pushes toward the map's center carefully; it's easy to underestimate how fast temperature drops once you're past the outer ring.

Rare Soil and how rankings actually work

Rare Soil is the season's ranking resource, produced hourly by any City or Dig Site your alliance holds (Dig Sites play a similar role to Season 1's Military Strongholds, guarded by polar beasts instead of monsters). This is a real departure from Season 1: final territory ownership at season's end doesn't decide your ranking - it's the total Rare Soil accumulated across the whole season that matters, so holding and re-holding ground consistently beats a single late-season land grab.

Losing territory stops future production but doesn't erase Rare Soil you've already banked - unless it changes hands directly through a Rare Soil War, which makes those fights genuinely high-stakes rather than just territorial.

The faction choice

Around Week 3, the Faction Awards event locks every warzone into one of two factions - Rebels or Gendarmerie - based on player voting. This is a server-wide decision that reshapes the rest of the season's war landscape, so it's worth deciding together with your alliance rather than everyone voting individually without discussion.

Resources and heroes

  • New resources this season: Coal and Titanium Alloy, both tied to Furnace and gear progression.
  • Violet is the season's featured hero, promotable to UR for her damage reduction - a strong pick if your formation needs more survivability.
  • The season runs roughly 8 weeks.
